EVERYTHING BEGINS WITH THE SUN
The chemical reaction between Visionet’s® layer of titanic anhydride and the sun’s UV rays leads to the breakdown of organic deposits on the glass. This process works even in cloudy weather, since 80% of UV rays penetrate cloud cover. Rain easily rinces away deposits of dirt which no longer cling to the glass.

RESISTANT GLASS
RESISTANT GLASS FOR INCREASED SAFETY
Resistek® glass is treated with a dipping process which greatly enhances its properties. The glass is heated to temperatures of approximately 700 degrees Celsius, then rapidly air cooled. The result is a compressed layer that renders the glass four times more resistant than regular glass. Tempered glass is very resistant but can still break with powerful impact. In the event the glass does break, it shatters into many small, relatively dull pieces, greatly reducing the chance of getting cut.

For complete peace of mind, opt for Resistek ultra®glass. With current climate changes, many of us worry about the safety of home and family. In violent weather, windows can be subjected to forceful winds and impact from objects. Theft can also be an issue. Why not protect yourself from these hazards? Laminated Resistek ultra® glass was developed to offer a high level of resistance to impact while holding the glass within the frame, even when it breaks.
Laminated glass responds to rigorous industry standards, including test F1233 against break-ins, established by the American Society of Testing Materials (the ASTM), and UL972 instructions for resisting break-ins, established by Underwriters Laboratories. Laminated glass can be made to order to respond to the requirements of any security system.
INSONOTEK®
SOUND BLOCKING GLASS

Our world gets noisier every day. Insonotek® glass is an effective way to reduce undesirable noise from the outside, particularly in areas close to airports, industrial installations, traffic, or anywhere there is a source of noise. Insonotek® glass increases a window’s STC* rating, which means more effective reduction in undesirable noises from outside.
WHAT ARE ITS PROPERTIES?
Insonotek® glass is made up of two sheets: a first sheet of glass 6 mm thick, and a second one 3 mm thick. Insonotek ultra® is made from a duo of glass sheets 3 mm thick, separated by a spacer membrane (for a total thickness of 6 mm), and another sheet of glass 3 mm thick. Insonotek® glass has an STC rating of around 33; Insonotek ultra® rates approximately 37. The STC rating of regular glass is about 30.
*The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has developed a rating system to evaluate a material’s ability to resist the transfer of airborne sound. The higher the STC rating, the more effective the sound-proofing.
LOW-E
ENERGY EFFICIENT WINDOWS

Vimat Windows and Doors’ low-E glass is made for the Canadian climate, providing comfort all year round in both warm and cold weather. Since glass comprises 75% of a window’s surface area, it must be capable of blocking out heat in the summer, and blocking out cold in the winter while holding heat inside. Our low-E glass offers the ultimate in home comfort.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT ON ENERGY SAVINGS?
A low-E coating enhances the properties of insulation by up to 40%. Argon gas filling between the two panes doubles the insulating effect and optimizes the thermal qualities of low-E glass.

All glass used by Vimat Windows and Doors is equipped with spacer bars specially designed for Canadian winters. Made of thin stainless steel, these spacer bars reduce heat transfer from the window, while conserving the polyisobutylene/silicone double barrier system for extreme durability.
PROTECTIVE PLASTIC FILM
A PLASTIC FILM THAT PROTECTS YOUR WINDOWS WHEN THEY NEED IT
Upon request, Vimat applies a protective film to both sides of the glass while in the factory. Once your project is completed, the film peels off easily, removing all dirt and factory stickers. No more risk of scratching the glass to remove specks of paint with a razor blade, and no cleaning windows necessary when your renovations are finished.
